- You must be 14 years of age or older to operate a personal watercraft andhave a Boating Safety Card.
- Allowing a person under 14 (without an adult in command and control of the watercraft) to operate a personal watercraft is a criminal offence.
- Anyone 21 years of age or under operating a vessel 10 hp or greater must possess a valid Boating Safey Card and picture I.D. Both must be carried on the vessel.
- Florida Boating Safey Card may be obtained through the self exam webite at www.myfwc.com.
- You must have one Type III or III US Coast Guard approved and correctly fitted personal flotation device (life jacket) for each person onboard your vessel.
- Children under 6 must wear an approved and correctly fitted personal floation device while in a boat under 26 feet in length while underway.
- While pulling a skier or any device the person being towed must wear an approved floatation device and the towing boat must have a wide angle mirror or an observer.
- All persons on a personal watercraft ("jetski") must wear an US Coast Guard approved and correctly fitted personal floatation device.
